The Lee Silverman Voice Treatment® programs were initially developed for patients with Parkinson's disease to improve the loudness and clarity of their voices. It has since expanded to treat the body movement challenges faced by patients with a range of neurological conditions.

Who would benefit from LSVT Therapy?

Research outcomes focus on treating patients with Parkinson's disease, but many other conditions benefit from LSVT, including stroke, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy and Down's syndrome.

What does the LSVT Program consist of?

Patients will be seen for individual sessions, four days a week for four consecutive weeks. Patients are required to consistently perform a structured home exercise program during this time frame.

What is LSVT BIG?

Provided by certified physical or occupational therapists, LSVT BIG consists of large amplitude, high intensity, repetitive movements. The goal is to enhance tasks such as walking, transfers, balance, writing and activities of daily living for overall improvement in quality of life, functional mobility and independence.

What is LSVT LOUD?

LOUD is provided by a certified speech language pathologist and focuses on increasing healthy volume of voice. The goal is to improve overall verbal communication in everyday activities and to be clearly understood by both familiar and unfamiliar listeners.

How can you schedule an evaluation with an LSVT certified therapist?

You will need a doctor's order for an evaluation and treatment. Most insurance plans provide coverage for LSVT Therapy as part of rehabilitation benefits. We will verify your benefits prior to starting therapy.
